How Long Does New Fencing Installation Take?
The time needed to install new fencing depends on the length of the fence, the type of panels or fencing used, and ground conditions for setting posts. Small sections or short boundary runs can often be completed within a day.
Larger fencing projects, uneven ground, or work that involves removing old fencing and setting new posts in concrete will take longer. We will look at the layout and access on site and give you a clear idea of the timescale before starting, so you know what to expect.

£68 first hour, minimum charge of 1 hour
£13.50 per ¼ hour thereafter

There is no VAT applicable to our published rates. However, in some cases we may need to use VAT-registered providers,
in which case VAT will be applied where applicable. We will always notify you at the time of booking if this applies.
What to Expect When We Repair Your Fence
Installing new fencing is about getting the foundations right and making sure everything is set out straight, secure and built to last. When your Surrey Handyman arrives, we will look at the boundary, access and ground conditions before starting work, so the fencing is installed properly and with minimal disruption.
Assessing the boundary and layout
We begin by checking the fence line, boundary points and any changes in ground level. This helps make sure the new fencing follows the correct line and fits the space as intended.
Removing old fencing if required
If existing fencing needs to be taken down, we remove panels, posts and fixings carefully. Any reusable sections are set aside, and waste is kept tidy and controlled.
Setting posts securely
Fence posts are the key to a strong fence. We set posts at the correct depth and spacing, using suitable methods to keep them upright and stable once installed.
Fitting panels, rails or boards
Once the posts are set, we fit the panels or fencing sections, making sure everything lines up evenly and is fixed securely.
Installing gates where needed
If your fencing includes gates, we fit and align them so they open and close properly and sit square within the fence line.
A tidy finish
When the installation is complete, we clear the work area and leave the site tidy. You are welcome to check the fence and raise any questions before we leave.
